Finding vulnerabilities and thus fixing them is a good thing. At least with Linux we know what is happening.

This. Basically all kernel bugs get CVE numbers now.

            “Security Vulnerabilities”.

No. “Code changes that could one day be a vulnerability but aren’t yet exploited or even proved”.

            Slop.

LLM’s found a mountain of security exploits of different magnitudes in the Linux kernel which got patched.

Imagine thinking that’s a large amount of patches.

Is this because Torvalds has embraced AI/vibecoding?

No, most of these existed pre-AI, and are just being discovered in large volumes by AI.

                        From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
