Completely agreed. Unfortunately he was also the “Ruby on Rails” guy, so for a long time he had serious developer cred. It is really sad to see.

Osiris (Egyptian) was killed and brought back to life. Dionysus, Adonis and Tammuz/Dumuzi are also on the list. Horus and Mithras seem to make equally likely candidates.
