Wait do people have some tradition of cutting off friends on new years day??
I do it when they have reasonably offended me beyond recourse
If you do it on new years doesn’t that imply you had to Dutch courage to do it, which could be impaired judgement? Or you waited with that boiling anger and frustration, never doing anything to alleviate it?

Yeah, most people have one friend each year who gets “voted off the island” so to speak, normally after the week of wilderness-survival themed challenges that take place between Christmas and New Years
For some people it’s about getting through the holidays, if you have kids it’s hard to know you’re going to absolutely fuck the next several months of their lives that were supposed to be extra good
