Interesting news regarding BookOrbit. I was having some difficulty deciding between BookOrbit and Grimmory and now I don’t have that dilemma anymore. :)

I remember reading that thread and what a shitshow. I ran grimmory for a while and the metadata scraping was inconsistent, especially with goodreads. Bookorbit seems to work so I’ll keep using it for now. I’ll probably end up switching back once bookorbit gets too bloated with all the stuff he’s been adding lately.

I laughed for a good minute or two reading that. I was skeptical of a whole rewrite of Booklore in Rust coming so quickly after Booklore’s downfall.
I’m loving Grimmory for now.

The linked Fluxer article was super interesting. If the goals of federation and published posts actually get implemented, that thing is gonna be amazing. I’ll probably try it out.
The Booklore/orbit drama is weird, and I read about it the same time as I read about calibre adding an AI game to their ebook management tool (wtf). I’d have assumed more sensitive use of AI from book people, if any at all.

1 dayEvery week I’m delighted to see this post appear. This is the sign for me that the weekend is about to start 🥳
I might actually try Frigate again, it looks like they’ve made a pile of improvements.

Be aware that there are still some bugs to workout, the menu options break some of the yaml configs if you had those already.
