14 hoursGreat news. Will make it much simpler next year. Will also make the flu vaccine significantly more effective.

I went to my local pharmacy and asked for both, but the pharmacist would only give me the flu shot. He said I was too young to need the Covid shot… Which he gave me last year.

33 minutesDepends what province you are in. Different provinces have different recommendations. Here in Ontario they say for everyone over 6 months.
http://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-vaccines
“Starting on October 26, 2026 anyone 6 months of age and older who lives, works or goes to school in Ontario can get a free COVID-19 and flu vaccine.”

12 hoursDefinitely! Having the flu jab in one arm and the COVID one in the other makes it hard to sleep on your side for a couple of days! This will be much easier.

i did that , the covid shot hurt more, as your immune system reacts more aggresively towards the covid vaccine than the flu. Also some distribuitors like walgreens in the us, use a tiny needle for the flu, so it hurts less.

12 hoursPlus, when I went for my shots this year, they ran out of the Covid shot, so had to back the week after.

That’s pretty good.
After the COVID jab I couldn’t raise my arm above shoulder level, or put my hand behind my back for about 6 months. My wife had to help me put on and take off my jacket. I assume it attacked the nerve or muscle in that jab area, and took time to regenerate.
Im glad I got function back, because you take two arm mobility for granted and it makes tasks super tricky.

7 hoursSounds like they accidentally just hit a nerve. Hopefully fully recover.

Yeah, that is not even close to a standard side effect. Sore/stiff arm for a day or two? Normal. Six months? See a doctor long before then because something else is happening.

Yeah I went to the doctor and he said he’d seen a lot of these odd COVID shot side effects, but as quick as it happens they clear up and so there’s no real solution, just have to wait it out.
But not as bad as my friends wife, she was paralyzed on the side of the shot, she lost muscle control of her one eye, and face muscles on the one side. She also chokes on food because one half doesnt realize food is coming down. Doctor said maybe 7-10 years for nerves to sort themselves out. If they ever do.
Canada had set up a fund for people to claim against for these severe cases.

Hopefully we can eventually get something like the inhaled vaccines that some countries have. They seem to be less reactogenic (but also less effective)
That said operator error on a puffer is probably a lot less serious than a needle.

He said we see it often with COVID and as quick as it comes it disappears so there is no real diagnosis we give out. Just gave antiinflammatory meds to help, but it didn’t do much.
