I feel like this one plays into the issue of not doing more when you can handle more. All things in moderation, including moderation.
Sometimes it’s worth doing more than just the normal amount of something.
I want my name to echo through history, like Edison. Not forgotten, like those people he stole his ideas from.

I used to feel similarly, but just living a rad life should be pretty good, I think, eh? Part of what convinced me was reading Germaine de Staël’s Treatise on the Influence of Passions on the Happiness of Individuals and Nations. Bottom line to me was just that fighting for renown is just too much bother, living a great ass life will be great regardless and if renown comes for that, great, why not.
Anyway, food for thought, it’s a good read, I recommend it.
