The number of people who are perfectly happy obeying clearly illegal orders is more than a little infuriating and dismaying.
Edit: I’m talking about the cops as well as the military here. The last two years have utterly shattered any illusions that I previously had about the officer corps of any branch of the US military being more loyal to the country itself and its people than the current leader of the country. Cops have been a known factor for a long damn time at this point. The military and national guard, less so.
