My worst coping mechanism: I used to try to make the weekend shorter by staying up as late as I physically could so I’d sleep in

I used to not know what to do with myself on weekends so I’d either work a ton of overtime or sometimes drink until I vomited.

self harm❌Tickling the cats belly til she bunny-kicks and scratches the ever loving shit out of my arm bloody ✅
Lol this is the face my therapist made when I mentioned that my natural sleep cycle (circadian rhythm?) doesn’t quite align with 24 hour days and drifts over time, so I occasionally I do what I call a “sleep leap day”, where I pull an all-nighter and continue through the next day to ‘reset’ it.

This is proof that you have Martian DNA, on Mars a day lasts 24 hrs 35 minutes, millions of years of evolution on that daylength means that approximately every 36 days your biological clock skips a day. Or every 18 days, your biological clock is fully inverted from Martian “Normal”
This is why you feel overwhelmingly tired on an 18 day cycle, your body is fighting millions of years of evolution to adhere to the accursed Earth day. The only solution is to go back to Mars, then we will feel better.
(This is my coping mechanism)
What the fuck are you talking about?
EDIT: My bad, joke went way over my head
Sorry dawg that went right over my head. I thought you were just looney

Wait other people do that too? I usually just did it before vacation/weekends ends to bring me back to the normal routine
I figured I wasn’t alone in doing that, but anyone I’ve told about it seemed to think I was nuts. My original inspiration for it was a piece of advice for jet lag- to stay up until it is a good bedtime for your destination, even if you are tired.
Do you perhaps live in a cave?

I did this every summer right before school started from the end of middle school through, basically the end of college if I wasn’t working.

There’s nothing wrong with spooning a hot damp sourdough loaf when you need a little intimacy
