A new survey has found that a record number of registered voters in the United States oppose the war on Iran and believe there is no strategy to end it.
A survey published on Thursday by Fox News found that 71 percent of voters believe the Trump administration “lacks a clear strategy” for ending the hostilities, which have helped to raise inflation and send fuel prices soaring.
Lots of Americans will believe whatever Israel tells them to and get mad at anyone who calls it out.

But it’s now below 30%, at least in that one poll (which is a Fox News poll no less). That’s kind of amazing. I thought he would never drop below about 33% in any of these polls because of those fanatical cult members.
It having dropped to 29% is actually a big deal. And it’s probably what’s setting klaxons off in the GOP and seeing the administration frantically try to simultaneously bribe and disenfranchise voters.
There’s political blood in the water.
From my observation, a quarter to a third of population are always fanatical idiots. This can generally be observed across voting patterns in many countries.

Making decisions based on what Russia and China think and not the effects of those policies and harm to others is honestly baby brained. Not accusing you of that, but that’s definitely what the original comment I was referencing was doing. All people everywhere deserve to be free, including the Iranian people, but the terror campaign initiated by the US and Israel against Iran makes nobody safer and senselessly kills many.
Would they? The war is damaging US reputation further worldwide, isn’t that good for Russia and China?
Russia yes, China probably no. Russia exports oil so Hormuz getting blocked is good for them, but China imports oil and would much rather oil prices stay low until they can fully decarbonize. The US squandering its soft power is probably a cherry on top for Russia and a silver lining for China, but the latter would probably still rather have fuel for their factories.
There are always people who will support ANY war. They are cowards who only feel safe when America is lashing out.
The only metric here is (fuel) price. Who cares about the war crimes, dead people, destroyed countries and so on.
Honestly, I’m amazed opposition to Israel was as high as it was before the war on Iran. The genocide had negligible impact on fuel prices, food prices, employment, or any direct material thing in the lives of yankees. Yet, they hated it. It was really heartening!
It gives me hope that, maybe, yankees aren’t solely motivated by gas jumping 40 cents in the past week.
In a lot of ways it was kinda inevitable from a cultural point of view. A lot of support for Israel has been historically driven by the Holocaust but as multiple factors have changed over the decades the direct support originating from the Holocaust and leading to Israeli support has slowly dried up. Between Israel being a genocidal shithole, the Holocaust fading into secondary memory, and the Holocaust being recognized as not just a Jewish but something that effected basically every minority have caused some of the collapse in support we’ve seen.
Note I am not trying to underplay the horrors of the Holocaust and how much energy was focused on the Jewish people, I am simply lacking in the verbage required to not sound like a bit of a dick.
Also the interconnected nature of the modern world makes Israels actions far more upfront and harder to suppress, we are far along from Jack Churchill making comments on the viciousness of it all but him being ignored.
The opposition to Zionist Israel has been growing slowly for a long time. I only learned about it in 2011 (though it wasn’t difficult to convince me that Israel and the US support was out of line).
Gas prices are immediate consequences. Its damn near impossible for people outside the US to know how vital car ownership is. As an example, I have a close friend who has split custody of her child, but the dad lives about a 45 minute drive away in a very tiny town. No buses or trains (not even tracks) between the two. And a 45 minute drive on highways at 65mph. (No she didnt support the war before this FYI).
This is considered “nearby.” I have a friend with a 140 mi round trip commute. My parents are a 20 minute drive away. A large chunk of the rest of my family is a 9 hour drive away. Buses, trains, bikes, its all not a thing we can do.
Gas prices isn’t about the cost to drive. Gas prices directly impact our entire lives. (Thank fuck I have an EV now).

Nah, I think at one point he agreed to ease certain sanctions as a bargaining tool, but I’m not sure if they were ever paused. Even if some were eased in the past new sanctions on both Iran and Russia just passed through the house today.
They’re blaming Biden, either for starting the war, or for giving nukes to Iran. I wish I was kidding. I hear it all day at work.
I mean, Biden does get his fair share of blame here for slow-walking negotiations with Iran among other things. He obviously didn’t start the war, but his choices led to prolonging the post-JCPOA situation where such a war was even possible. That doesn’t excuse Trump, you know, starting the damn war, but there’s plenty of blame to go around.
Also his unwavering support of military aid for Israel put them in the position where they felt like they could push for this

Trump reneging on the JCPOA helped the hardliners win the next election, and the Iranians of course lost what little trust they had in America for the same reason, so by all means it was going to be harder than the original run. Biden did not do a better job, or even the same quality of job, as Obama. For example you have him refusing to walk back Trump-era escalation requested by Netanyahu and reneging on his own word to back up Israel. And, of course, he did nothing (or whatever he did wasn’t very successful) to restrain Israel from escalating with Iran in this period, which can’t have helped him earn the Iranians’ trust. In short, he thought he could play hardball when he had to earn back the Iranians’ trust that his predecessor had squandered.
