I like how the last line would be a complete bombshell headline on its own to American readers but it’s not emphasized. “bribed his way out (of military conscription)”

BBC already reported that a soldier took a crowbar to the face. That was a month ago at least.

And seemingly without excuses for why this should be acceptable.
