You seem to be borderline panicking. Take a few deep breaths, and then remember the following:
- The past is gone, the future is uncertain.
- Never let perfect get in the way of good.
- Pick your battles.
Now, with that out of the way: you cannot undo the past. Don’t try to.
So, the question is, what do you do? I am not bothering with tech answers, there are plenty of guides online.
Therefore: Go and see if there are knowledgeable people around you who have no reason to harm you. Go to your local hackerspace, repair cafe, civil rights group, whatever you may have close and looks acceptable. Listen to advice, and if necessary quietly discard the bits you think are stupid.
Yes, even if they are all weird neckbeards or furry trans wannabe catgirls or tree-hugging hippies. Nod and smile and just talk “shop”, if you have to. And there is no shame in accepting that you disagree too much with a group and won’t come back.
We are not supposed to face things alone. Sitting alone and panicking is a way that leads to tinfoil hats and lizard people. And everyone fighting on their own, divide and conquer, that is how movements fail.

That’s 99.9% of people. Unless you’re a head of state or in some other way in highly influential or powerful position you’ve got nothing to worry about. You can never completely cover your tracks online. The best you can do is make it difficult enough for people to track you that they go with someone else instead. It’s also good practice to reming yourself of what the actual threat model is. Who do you want to stay hidden from?
It doesn’t take much to lose a stalker but if it’s big tech you’re trying to hide from then all you need is a cable cutter.

Oh your an authoritarian bootlicker and a schizo. I’ll report this post to the authorities and steam support. Hopefully youve sufficiently covered your tracks.

That is nothing my dude, almost all of us havw done the same unless we’ve been specifically coached not to.
In fact, it may be impossible not to. It is hard to write differently even if you consciously try to. Some accounts require your phone number, like healthcare and stuff. Even VPN and Tor isn’t totally usable or always helpful in every situation. Logging into Lemmy via Tor is counter productive for Tor use, actually.
The key is to just not give info that isn’t necessary. You can’t totally delete yourself, and having a completely blank slate may even be suspicious, depending on your threat model.

It definitely is, and at the same time the ways we’re tracked online are creepy as shit and most of it is too late to opt out of. Some of it also doesn’t even require your own input, just you existing.
Sooooo….if you don’t erase yourself from the internet we’re all gonna get sick?
