Just a few years ago, tech workers held enormous leverage over their employers. That power has eroded recently, especially because of AI. Tech workers can find new sources of leverage, but only through waging struggles at the workplace.

      Did you say that with or without reading the article? Basically it’s saying with the recent AI push they’re losing leverage over employers and are getting worse deals. That’s the opposite of the desired effect that this community is pushing for. So I’m curious what you’re hoping for?

        Oh, no, I didn’t read yet. I caught the headline before leaving for work 😅 and planned on reading, but hadn’t gotten around to it.

        Well that’s a bummer though, I was really hoping for leverage to be had, not lost! I’m in tech, and while I’ve made some strides in job security and pay, if my company ever decides its “not worth it” I’m out (they’d let me go).
