Film: Blade Runner 2049 (2017)
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Cinematography: Roger Deakins
Starring: Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Harrison Ford, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright
When I first watched Blade Runner 2049 in 2017, I mostly remember being impressed by it. It looked incredible, sounded incredible, and felt like a movie made with an almost ridiculous amount of confidence.
I also thought it was too slow.
Watching it again in 2026, I see it differently. The movie still moves slowly, but now that slowness feels appropriate. What once looked like a distant dystopian future now feels strangely familiar.
